I used to miss pronounce this airline all the time till I spoke to their rep and he corrected me
Its pronounced exactly like 'cutter'

Both are right. It really depends, most Americans say Kuh-Tar.

I am pretty sure Qatat is wealthier than UAE (when I was there it was the number 1 in the world, I am not sure if that is still the case). UAE is quite wealthy as well.

But, UAE is just as bad (maybe slightly, and I mean slightly better).

It just shows vast money does not make social progress. You can be the richest countries in the world, and still a backwards totalitarian theocracy.

I do not know that it is or not, but it is still Reno to Vegas in perception which is what counts. For sure UAE has way more crazy money building crazy things. My my brother retired in big part because he had to tour there once a year. KSA has closed the border.

Though I would not mind going to the camel races once in my life.

Was looking at some old family pics last night, my dad sent me a picture of a beer he had just made in KSA, from an icy mug with a great head of foam.

That does sound like fun.

I lived there for a year, very rich (I think the richest country in the world, at least at the time), but backwards county.

If you like alcohol gambling, and bacon you would hate living there, backwards treatment of women aside.....

Being gay is illegal.
So you went there for the love of money?

I had no choice.

Many people do go there for money. You could not pay me enough to go to such a backwards country.

Looks good. I can't stand it since it became a 'platform'.

These list vary if you use standard exchange rates or purchasing power parity. In the case of UAE and Qatar you have many more "guest workers" than you have citizens. Luxembourg's high figure is partly due to the large number of people working in the tiny landlocked nation while living in surrounding France, Germany and Belgium.

IMF per Capita GDP (year 2020)
Luxembourg 109.6 thousand
Switzerland 81.87 thousand
Ireland 79.67 thousand
Norway 67.99 thousand
United States 63.05 thousand
Singapore 58.48 thousand
Denmark 58.44 thousand
Iceland 57.19 thousand
Qatar 52.75 thousand
Australia 51.89 thousand
Netherlands 51.29 thousand
Sweden 50.34 thousand
Austria 48.63 thousand
Finland 48.46 thousand
Germany 45.47 thousand
Hong Kong SAR 45.18 thousand
Belgium 43.81 thousand
Canada 42.08 thousand
San Marino 41.68 thousand
Israel 41.56 thousand
France 39.26 thousand
United Kingdom 39.23 thousand
Japan 39.05 thousand
Macao SAR 38.77 thousand
New Zealand 38.68 thousand
United Arab Emirates 31.95 thousand

Remember that "per capita" is simply an average. On average this man has decent shoes

There is very little information from Gulf Countries on formal indexes that indicate distribution of wealth
Net Income Gini Index
Wealth Gini Index
Poverty Rate (%)

In 1912, Italian sociologist and statistician Corrado Gini developed a means of measuring wealth distribution within societies known as the Gini index or Gini coefficient: its value ranges from 0 (or 0%) to 1 (or 100%), with the former representing perfect equality (wealth distributed evenly) and the latter representing perfect inequality (wealth held in few hands).
