Of course it is. It may not be the world you want to live in but that is the real world for a lot of people.

I like holidaying on the Las Vegas Strip but I don't consider that the real world. I like getting pampered at a Sandal's resort but that not the real world either. I think the problem arises when people think places like that are the 'real world'.

I agree
I walk into these high end stores and I treat the people with respect and dont expect to be served because I'm a tourist
I walk in, 1st thing I say is relax, just looking
Because
These places all about service. Many wont let you look around unless escorted
I had a neat conversation with the doorman at YSL (Yves Saint Lauren)
Just a regular real world guy working the entrance all day
We talked about traffic and parking. He had a good chuckle when I told him I decided to have lunch at the Farmers Market and was shocked the parking lot was packed on a weekday.
Real world regular people run these high end places.
Stop and say hello to these real world people

I live in Las Vegas, it is definitely my real world. I see slot machines every single day, they are not just for vacationers.

I appreciate that you helped create the world of the Vegas strip. But for most of us tourists it is pure escapism and has a much relevance to our real world as Disneyland.

Exactly, but to many people it is the real world.

When Vancouver was the money laundering capital of the world it sold more extreme luxury cars than any other city in the world. Few of them stuck around Vancouver most of them went to Asians or the Saudis. The dealers were all in one block. I would walk through there occasionally and look at the high 6 even 7 figure price tags. Salesmen were always friendly. They even let my grandson sit in a couple of them one trip when he was with me. That still doesn't make it a real world to me when only 1% or less are actually part of it not just passing through.

I agree with that. It is not part of what you consider the real world but to the people working there it is factually the real world.

The real world is the Ferrari dealership at the Wynn where the cheapest thing you can buy is a $25 souvenir coffee mug.

(But I hear it closed)

So nothing happened at the Capital yesterday but they are going to keep the razor wire up for another 2 months. The US is quickly giving away what little freedom you had left. How bad is the new legislation going to be for the next 2 months that they need to do it behind razor wire.

We're losing freedom because there is wire up around the Capitol? Maybe try not having right-wing extremists storm the building next time. I've never even been to D.C., so I'm not losing anything.
