The 12 Most Expensive Weddings In History Gus Lubin Apr. 20, 2011

#12 Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas The bill was $1.5 million in 2005, or $1.6 million when adjusted for inflation.
#11 Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes The bill was $2 million in 2006, or $2.2 million when adjusted for inflation.
#10 Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman The bill was $2 million in 2005, or $2.2 million when adjusted for inflation.
#9 Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar The bill was $2.5 million in 2007, or $2.6 million when adjusted for inflation.
#8 Paul McCartney and Heather Mills The bill was $3 million in 2002, or $3.6 million when adjusted for inflation.
#7 Elizabeth Taylor and Larry Fortensky The bill was $2.5 million in 1991, or $4 million when adjusted for inflation.
#6 Liza Minnelli and David Gest The bill was $3.5 million in 2002, or $4.2 million when adjusted for inflation.
#5 Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky The bill was around $5 million in 2010.
#4 Wayne Rooney and Coleen McLoughlin The bill was $8 million in 2008.
#3 Prince William and Kate Middleton The bill will be an estimated $34 million, most of it going to security.
#2 Vanisha Mittal and Amit Bhatia The bill was $60 million in 2005, or $66 million when adjusted for inflation.
#1 Prince Charles and Lady Diana The bill was $48 million in 1981, or $110 million when adjusted for inflation.

Now supposedly the Sean Parker spent $10 million on his wedding in California which is being compared to 'Game of Thrones'.

I have to admit that I have never even seen 'Game of Thrones'.

It's kind of sad to see that more than half of those marriages (#11, #10, #9, #8, #7, #6, #1) have ended. I think that weddings should end with a large predator eating the guests.

That's a very clever picture. But you may notice there are two brides in it ;)

Isn't that the fifty million dollar divorce settlement?

Quite a few of those divorces were huge. David Gest was extremely effeminate , and he claimed that Liza knowingly exposed him to the herpes virus. It allowed him to claim a big part of her money.

Ok. I looked and looked.

Where's the second bride?
Ignorance is bliss and knowledge is power. But having only some facts can get you into trouble!

Quinn Miller (the photographer and groom) admitted that the concept of a T-Rex at a wedding is not original. But he prided himself on the quality of the photoshopping, the expressions on the party, and the general drama captures in the shot.

I count 10 men and 7 women + "one bride" in the photo. I admit that I don't know what Nareed is talking about either.

Quinn Miller's efforts are likely to spark a new requirement in wedding photos.

Sean Parker equipped his guests with outfits designed by the costume designer for the Lord of the Rings movies. It remains to be seen if wealthy brides will start dressing their guests in the future, and not just their bridesmaids.

The T-Rex, sillies =p
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

I wonder what Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's wedding would have cost after adjusting for inflation?

Also, I'm pretty sure there were some Egyptian Pharoh's or Aztec weddings that had to be more expensive. Human sacrifice was part of the ceremony.

According to Forbes, Sheik Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and Princess Salama's wedding was the most expensive, estimated at $100 million in 2011 dollars. His parents built a stadium to accomodate the week long wedding ceremony. The same article puts the Charles and Diana wedding at $70 million adjusted for inflation.
