I think you have it backwards? But anyway, whatever you think of him, he was a genius businessman. Built a 9 figure fortune via a radio talk show. I bet as he neared his lady days he was happy with his life, even if Quadriga wasn’t. I listened occasionally. There were just too many callers that were just pure suck ups. They were still there but only people waiting on the phone could hear them. Making fun of Obama was harder because he was the first half white half black president. Not to mention he helped save the AM band for a generation. There was no long talk format like it when he started. He said he would do a talk show with no guests and they thought he was crazy. But he showed the way that broke the Democrat stranglehold on congress. To the mid-1990s he was the only voice not of the mainstream media. And they never forgave him for breaking that lock. Listening to the tributes today I was thinking back to when I started to listen. My beliefs were in 20-something formation at the time. But I had a job with tons of car time and at that age with that time most people drift from music to some kind of talk. I remember his 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, and 30th anniversary years. At first he was an antidote for the disgusting policies of Clinton. Then the years went by and it was someone you realized you listened to for so much of your life. So I feel old today I guess. The President is a fink. |
