Suicide is tough on your kids.

Years ago a guy I knew killed himslef, leaving a teen aged son behind.

About ten years later I was talking to the son, and he told me how people were always telling him that he's going to kill himself, because his dad did; he said "No way."

I read his obit a few years later, and learned he was a suicide.

The father of my son's best friends did a Hemingway after telling both his sons they were worthless, and that he was disinheriting them.

BANG.

I fear for their future.

I didn't think it cold but considerate.

add; I had one friend who went to a motel and left "do not disturb" on the door.

It brings on many changes
And I can take or leave it if I please

I am lucky I suppose, I just don't get depressed? Dr's have asked me if I had considered suicide, and I said "sure I have, I haven't made plans but yeah, I've thought about it" hasn't everyone?
[I'm on the record for not wanting a suicide thread, but here I go again contributing] you want to watch who you say that to. Recently a woman around here was talking freely like that to someone she shouldn't have, on the phone, and the person notified an agency of some sort. They sent the police and she wound up in the funny farm for a while. That was her claim, anyway, that she was just talking freely like that. I do think you want to pretty much not do that willy-nilly.

PS: and definitely do not call the "feeling sad ? call this 800 number" In some places the guys to come take you in are almost automatically sent as soon as you call. Legally, you know, they can be in a bind if they don't

I read that about sixty percent of gunshot deaths are suicides.

Could well be true. There are about 15,000 murders a year in the US and about 45,000 suicides.

If anything that might be low.

Some people don't research putting a bullet in their head very well and survive.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

If you can reach around back is probably the best way. Think my grandfather did that as there was a 3'4" hole in the skimcoat in the ceiling.

I think in most countries (active war zones are probably the exception), the majority of gun deaths are suicides.

after pondering it, I think that was too cold even for joking, and I apologize
