Republicans are going to campaign on….. ‘We would have gotten the civilians out BEFORE we got the military out’! Most 3rd graders could have figured that one out. But not the Biden/Harris administration. |

Non-essential workers. Dimplomatic aids. Military deployments have people that operate machinery for construction work like repairing base roads, adding to building and other general construction or repair and building maintenance. Staff can usally be reduced to a bare minimum, if there's no future mission requirement. Not sure how common it is for Americans to marry afghans but it happens in other countries. I suspect it's not common, but they're might be a some. A family member may not want to leave the relatives still in country until the last minute even if they're married to a foreigner. 2022 will likely follow the normal pattern of the party in the White House losing seats. I think the Republicans will win the House. Not as convinced of the Senate. This will be due to all the normal reasons that lead to some dissatisfaction with the people in power. There will be part of it based on President Biden's moderate campaign compared to his lurch to the left. The hangover from the Afghan situation will be added to the noise--the President has a hard time answering a tough question with a complete sentence. He is 100% not the Joe Biden of 20 years ago...but we do have a part in that by electing people in their 70's... 2024...will President Biden run again? Will Vice President Harris step up? Again, the decline of the President will come into play and how much depends on what additional things come up that he has to handle and show leadership. He has a chance to redeem himself; our memories are short. Vice President Harris needs to step out of the shadows and make a mark. She was not added to the ticket for her great performance as a candidate for President, so she would need to step up her ability to campaign. Right now, I think the Democrats have a better chance of keeping the Presidency if those two step away and a new candidate appears. All that can change if he comes up aces on a couple of things that make the public feel good about him. |
