Not just tents and tarps: Portland is also plagued by homeless pukes in derelict boats, with no viable solution in sight.

You can always find a good time is stumptown, even with homelessness running rampant.

Here's folks having fun at McMenamin's Edgefield:

So instead of condemning them for shutting down and nearly destroying downtown Portland, the asshats in charge of the art museum are lionizing them.

Keeping Portland weird...

That name sounds real familiar
I remember visiting a place with that name
But it was out in the country
They actually had a little Grateful Dead Bar

There are many different McMenamin brewpubs at many different places in the Pac NW.

The main one, the one I posted about, is outside of stumptown in Troutdale, Oregon.

Good times.

This was no brewpub
This was a huge estate out in the country that hosts concerts and has variety of businesses on site to drink and eat
It's exact name is Mcmenamin Edgefield
I had to check it out personally because

Yes indeed, we are talking about the same place.

Edgefield used to be the Portland poor farm and the outbuildings were all dedicated to keeping the poor farm up and running.

But yeah, McMenamins is in fact a brew pub, but they offer other things as well.

Upon reflection, progressive politicians and policies only fans the flames, they are not the cause of the problem.

"Go west, young man" has been a key phrase in the American culture for many decades.

Folks unhappy with their hum-drum life elsewhere were drawn like flies on poop to the west coast.

Our music praised it: "California Girl"s and " If You're Going to San Francisco" helped fuel an exodus of disaffected folks.

The benign climate is the key problem, plus the fact the Pacific ocean acts as a bar to further migration westward.

I moved west in the late seventies and never regretted it; I cannot say I'd feel the same way if I did it today.

Drugs, homelessness, theft: the tri-fecta; when the American Dream has imploded and there's no family or safety net we now can see what it REALLY means to lose.
