He starred in "Until the End of the world," one of my "guilty pleasure" movies, i.e. odd flicks that have merit but never really took off in the box office.

A multi-year project from Win Wenders, it is many hours long, moves a bit slowly, but was interesting to view (I bought the DVD).

As a bonus, the sound track is excellent, I bought the CD long before I watched to movie, the CD stands up strongly on its own.

RIP Mr. Hurt...your world has finally ended.

Actor William Hurt, 71

Natural causes.

Nothing against him personally, but he had a knack to be in movies I didn't like.

I remember him from "Body Heat" and "Altered States" I remember seeing him in the "Big Chill" but I don't remember being much interested in that movie.

I pretty just remember him in the 1st 2 movies listed
No idea he was still working
Did not see the Big Chill. No interest

He was mostly an eighties actor, he was good in The Big Chill. I can't think of anything he did after that. He's two years younger than me and he died of natural causes? Doesn't sound really very natural to me. I'm still alive because of natural causes.

William Hurt received the Oscar in 1985 for Best Actor, for his work in ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman'.

He was nominated for Best Actor in 1986 and 1987.

In 1983 he starred as the Russian police officer in Gorky Park. Available on Amazon Prime.

I forgot about Gorky Park, that's a really good movie. Eyewitness and Body Heat are also very good. The Big Chill, Gorky Park, Eyewitness, Kiss of the Spider Woman,
Body Heat, and Altered States we're all made between 1980 and 1985. William Hurt really killed it in the 80s and he worked steadily until he died. In fact he was working on three movies when he died.

I have some Seinfeld trivia, in her honor, at WoV.
