In an average year, I probably watch 2.5 movies that I haven't already seen before, both old and new included.

I would probably be just over 1 per year.

I honestly don't watch much in the way of sports. Just some NFL games and Olympic events that I think are fun. I probably average 0.5 NFL games watched, per week, these days...I do look at the stats for almost all games, though.

I have cut way back on my NFL watching, I may watch the equivalent of 1 game per week now whereas I watch about 15 college games per week.

Sidney Poitier @ 94.

I never did learn the spelling of his last name.

In the 1960s it seemed like he was the only black movie star. In the Heat of the Night, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, They Call Me Mr. Tibbs, A Raisin in the Sun, To Sir with Love, they were all Mega hits. This clip from In the Heat of the Night is an absolute classic it shows the state of racial America in the mid-60s. Unless you were around in the sixties you can have no idea what a breakthrough movie this was.

Yeah, I'm having trouble thinking of a major star known on the same level as him from that era. Sammy Davis was in movies but he wasn't known for his acting chops.

Most others came later or weren't playing lead roles in major movies of the time. A few on TV, but still secondary or minor characters.

He succeeded because he acted and sounded pretty "white."

Unlike a lot of black actors today who often "talk ghetto," Sidney spoke a refined version of English and dressed conservatively.

Safe.

I was hoping "The Thing with Two Heads" was a 60's movie, but it was 1972. Staring Rosie Greer (football player) as 1/2 the thing.

Ray Milland was pretty much a movie whore toward the end of his career. He made some truly awful movies because he would do any movie they asked him to as long as he got paid. This movie is so bad that it's actually kind of good because it's so ridiculous.

From the sound of things, he may have not been expecting it either.
