60 million die each year globally, not just U.S. Those people count too.

Then it should be compared to global deaths, not just USA china virus deaths.

Buckle up, here we go again. One of my best friends from high school who was just at my house a week ago informs me that him and his wife have covid and his wife has it pretty bad. My wife tells me that half a dozen people at her mother's nursing home have covid now and they are under lockdown again. This is going to be a repeat of last summer. Why people think this is over is a mystery to me, just cuz they want it to be over doesn't mean it is.

If you’re in a nursing home you should be worried about the common cold. Most of the people there are already in poor health.

In 2019 55.4 million deaths were worldwide. You should use that as a starting number to compare with worldiwde COVID deaths (5-15 million)

When you are talking about 1 million excess deaths, you are talking about the United States over two years. The comparison number is the number of deaths in the US pre-COVID.

It is true that COVID was not bad enough so that deaths outnumbered births like a typical European nation. But Births-Deaths = 875,772 in 1936 at the height of the great depression when the population was ~128 million.

In 2021 out of 96 births, 91 replaced a person who died and only 5 added to the natural growth. Thank heavens for immigration or we would be withering away.

Out of all the high profile cases recently (Nancy Pelosi, Kamala Harris, everyone who got it at the White House correspondents dinner), have any actually gotten really sick? I don’t think so.

Nancy Pelosi is old AF and seems fine. Kamala is back to work.

This is why “Covid is over” for most people. If you were smart and got vaccinated, you’ll be fine.
