I'm shocked, SHOCKED I tell you!

Round up the usual suspects.

Actually the story and the interplay between Rick and Renault was a lot more interesting than the rest of the movie.

14 day suspension for lack of taste. :)
Oh no, not another suspension! ;)
Casablanca is one I would somewhat reluctantly give another chance. Maybe a lot of older movies just don't appeal to me. Not all, just some.

I have had "The Diary of Anne Frank" in my hulu queue for some time. I'm planning on watching it soon. I wonder how it ends. :O

That's harsh. Nobody dislikes Casablanca.

There is always Philadelphia Story (1940) and Bringing Up Baby (1938)

Roman Holiday (In my top 10 overall)
It's a Wonderful Life
Casablanca
Stage Door
Maltese Falcon
African Queen
To Kill A Mockingbird
Meet John Doe
Psycho
Good Night and Good Luck
Philadelphia Story
It Happened One Night
A couple dozen others I can't think of at the moment.

I agree with HB - I've never enjoyed Citizen Kane, though I see the craft of it.
Never doubt a small group of concerned citizens can change the world; it's the only thing ever has

I have to throw my hat in for 12 Angry Men. Great story, great acting, and great cinematography. One of the best movies ever made.

I enjoyed reading through this thread because I like movies so much. But I think that over 90% of what is made today is garbage. I haven't been to a movie theatre in 15 years. I don't like the experience--people talking and commenting during the show, cell phones, etc. Dislike movies with special effects. I walked out of "The Mummy Returns" after about 20 minutes. I saw "Vertical Limit" was on TV the other day. Or should I say, I saw part of it. Terrible picture. One completely unbelievable scene after another.

The Killing was on TV the other day (what a picture. What a cast). Female On The Beach. Autumn Leaves. Peyton Place. The Big Knife. (Just mentioning a few good movies.). The Lady From Shanghai was on TV a while back. I found it too slow to watch. But Rita Hayworth was just stunning in it. She just lights up the screen. In Gilda, I don't remember her bring as good.

The Bad Seed. (Rhoda, Rhoda, Rhoda.) ( Give me back those shoes!)

The only one I can think of is the Wizard of Oz and don't know of any others. The only B&W I know are old TV shows from Nick at Night and Gilligan's Island. Loved them all and would still watch them all night if they still ran like the late 80s and early 90s. I loved the innocence of all those shows.

The Rifleman and Hooneymooners are 1 and 1A for greatest black and white shows.

Johnny Crawford was a very good actor. Lots of expression and emotion.
