It’s another totally stupid ‘House rule’. Crafted by Dems and Repubs alike. Apparently McCarthy has the unilateral right to eliminate Swallwell and Schiff. Elections have consequences, and he will eliminate them from those committees. McCarthey does NOT have the right to remove Omar from her committee. She will be subject to a full vote of the House. There is a second Republican House member who said she will be voting with Spatz, and presumably all Democrats. One other Republican is injured and likely won’t be voting. So I think the Dems need 2 other Repubs to vote for Omar. I am somehow hoping that the deciding vote comes down to the most qualified Congressman ever, George Santos. Being voted in by your constituents to me only guarantees you one of 435 votes. No guarantee of being on a ‘committee’. I think McCarthey appointing Santos to ANY committee will come back to bite him. Whatever you think of Swallwell/Schiff/Omar, they aren’t Santos! |

Nikki has a good chance, so Trump (if not in prison) will likely choose her to be VP because of at least her gender and party swap. But, if elections have been fixed since 1913, I wouldn't count on any winner. |
