The November 2018 arrest and imprisonment of Alliance chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn, doesn't seem to have helped. All Nissan Cars are made in North America except the Z (263 units) and the GT-R (57 units). Cars in 2022 were the Versa, the Sentra, the Altima, the Maxima, and the LEAF with the Maxima being discontinued for 2023, YoY from 2021 North American Car -22.8% North American Truck or SUV -21.8% Import Truck or SUV -41.5% |

I bought a Maxima about 25 years ago and it seemed like a really good car at the time. I also owned an Altima and I was not a fan of it because it felt cheap and not nearly as solid as the Maxima. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent. |

The Nissan Maxima debuted for model year 1982 as the Datsun Maxima, it replaced the earlier Datsun 810. Subcompacts and Full size cars are being discontinued.
