90 year old cheerleader in Japan in the center. The google eyed cheerleader on the left is pretty cute. She looks like she could be in her fifties.

Japan's median age is 48.4 against a global value of 30.3 years and ~38 years in the US, In 2022, population aged 65 years and above for Japan was 29.9 %.

A significant percentage of the world is facing a population bust while Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian sub-continent is still booming.

If you think that an older population is less inclined towards violence, consider that Russia and the Ukraine were two of the earliest countries to reach Zero Populaion Growth and a subsequent decline in populaion.

Population Russia
1989 147,386,000
2000 147,500,000
2010 147,856,836
2021 144,700,000

Population Ukraine
1958 41,512,000
2021 41,167,336

I visited the villages recently. It's kind of fantasyland for seniors. The place isn't for me. Very artificial.
They are quite proud of their cheerleader squads.

There was an interesting episode of Joe Rogan Experience with Peter Zeihan where he talked about this in depth.

I have no idea if he is correct or not, but he predicts that China and Russia only have about 10 years left due to population decline and not having the geography to be self sufficient.

Safe
Virtually free golf
Heated outdoor pools
Not likely to be destroyed by a hurricane
Go EVERYWHERE in a golf cart
I can afford it (I’m on Siesta Key now and I couldn’t afford a place I’d want to buy)

Population United States
1960 179,323,175
2020 331,449,281

Population Ukraine
1958 41,512,000
2021 41,167,336

The population of the US has nearly doubled in 6 decades while the population of the Ukraine is nearly the same.

That's a pretty negative prediction just from population decline. Zero Population Growth used to be a mantra

Russia was decimated by WWII. I am quoting from memory, but 75% of men born in 1923 in Russia died and this echo permeates continuing to show up every few decades with a much lower generational birth increase. This population boom by overall population and bust by younger generational replacement causes a conversation most will not like which includes sterilization and incentive to reproduce. This population boom was caused by the abundance of food which was caused by abundance of cheap energy, it's very doubtful most of us would even be alive or survived long if it were not for things being easy. That's the problem, green energy isn't cheap, so without cheap energy the population will suffer one way or another. Robotics will be necessary, but again, green energy isn't cheap and assuming fossil fuel energy won't be around much longer, the population will slow or plummet. These problems need cooperation and some just won't want to cooperate. We all want stable lives for the future generations worth living, but it might not happen.
