Obviously this higher math is beyond me. I think the important thing is to remember to do the conversion. Steve Allen was a pretty sharp character but when flying the airline informed him the destination city's temperature was fifteen degrees and he arrived in Canda wearing a heavy overcoat. I thinkthose litre/liter things are confusing sometimes but rarely need to convert.

I would be wearing a heavy coat to when it is 60F out. I don't know how you people can live in cold weather. To me a 100F day is Vegas is very comfortable.

I think I've mentioned this before. You get used to any system of measures, to a point, if you use it for a period of time. No matter how stupid, irrational or Imperial it is. If you drove somewhere that reckoned distance in hectares and measured fuel in coffee cups, you'd know the h per cc of your car anyway.

This brings up another question. I've Waze set to use the metric system. Curiously it tends to give early warnings of turns at 800 m, 400 m and 200 m (except at times going faster than 60 kph, it will sometimes say "in one kilometer, keep left.") These correspond to 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 of a mile, and this strikes me as not coincidental at all.

So the question: when using Waze in the irrational system, does it warn you of turns using fractions of a mile?

Bonus question: what is a "millihelen"?

Every school kid in the US knows there are 5280 ft per mile. They did when I was in school anyway.

Canadian weather makes the conversation easy. At -40, C and F are the same.

I did not know that off the top of my head
I did run track , 1/4 mile or 440 yards.
440 times 4 equals 1760 yards equals 1 miles.
I know that off the top of my head because I ran track , but did not know feet off the top of my head but its simply 1760 time 3

Any person named Helen after an explosion?
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

It does involve a person named Helen, sort of.

Yes, it does, but that particular
Helen's role was purely mythical. Oh, I'm sure she existed but Athens felt Troy was too powerful and wanted to end their monopoly on horse trading.
