odiousgambit Member since: Oct 28, 2012 Threads: 154 Posts: 5055 | advice and even what some sites demand on computer passwords often seem odd to me, not to say some of it isn't good mainly I'd say the oddest thing is not mentioning that the main thing that saves most of us is the fact that a hacker can not keep trying different passwords in most of what we have to deal with. Usually there can be about 4 attempts before getting locked out. As long as you don't do stupid passwords like the names of your pets, or "qwerty", etc., with the tiniest effort the password you create is going to be just fine with such systems. Yet they often insist you use something with both lower and upper case, numbers, and symbols. I've gotten a little uncomfortable with what I've been doing for a while, which is storing passwords in the cloud ... many warnings that can be hacked. So I have changed many recently for banks and other important places to something I can memorize. If that is nearly impossible due to demanded complexity, I've taken the advice that to write it down somewhere is better than storing it somewhere on your computer, or in cyberspace. SOOPOO Member since: Feb 19, 2014 Threads: 22 Posts: 4157 | I was golfing at my public golf course in suburban Buffalo yesterday, when a large animal was loping across the fairway. First glance I just assumed it was a deer, as we have many, but second glance it was obviously a coyote! It was much bigger and faster than I would have thought. The golf course has lots of bunnies. Maybe a few less today.... A few weeks back a bear was killed on the street I used to live on. There hadn't been a bear sighting in my area for decades. The bear was injured before the police had to put it down. |

Shoot it! Or don't. They kill deer, too, and I don't know how you guys stand them up there. At least in the Southtowns, they're every freaking where. I hit SIX last winter. Deer, that is. Can't say I've ever seen a 'yote, though I always hear them screaming the night away.
That the Amherst one? I just had one on my route last week, Lakeview Rd where it crosses the 90. I don't think they found it. Think yours got hit and then was shot. Y'all should probably stop building now. As a bit of a BANANA, the 'burbs trigger me daily. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

Fleastiff Member since: Oct 27, 2012 Threads: 62 Posts: 7831 | Not only do these silly sites require complex passwords of numbers symbols and mixed cases but they often have a live indication of complexity status. I kept getting rejected with my generic password followed by some gibberish symbols so I put the gibberish symbols first and then typed the exact same generic password, suddenly I sailed thru the registration process with flying colors. Strange. I would prefer to not write my passwords down anywhere but for someone who can't remember what comes after Walla it is sort of necessary for me to write them down even if I can never find where the list is. |

Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 146 Posts: 25010 | Our anniversary is next week and my wife informed me 2 weeks ago that we were going 150 miles north to see her cousins yarn shop and search for a relatives headstone in an old cemetery. Spend the night at Soaring Eagle casino. Not a single part of this was anything I remotely wanted to do, I don't even like that casino any more. I've been plotting ways to weasel out of it, and lo and behold! My wife went up there today with her sister. I never had to say a word. Maybe there is a god, and I didn't even have to pray about it. Thank you Jesus! If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Apparently somebody goes around photographing all the tombstones in cemetary's and lists them online. I have found over a dozen of my family. https://www.findagrave.com/ The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |
