Does this make sense to anyone else?

"It wasn't so much an idea for a story, as an idea for an idea for a story."

An idea for a concept for a story. Yes.

You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Nice chair. Only the rich had chairs, throughout
history. The peasants sat on stools or benches,
even in their homes. It wasn't till the 16th century
in EU before chairs were used by regular people
and not just the rich and privileged. Of course in the
Vatican they had been sitting on ornate chairs
for hundreds of years.

From the silver lining file:

On the days leading up to the Pope's visit to Mexico this week, what got talked about most was how bad the traffic is expected to get until the Pope leaves.

Even better, a poll asked "What emotion does the Pope's visit make you feel?"

"Peace" was the highest placed, with about 38%

In second place was "Indifference" with 23%

there may be hope yet...

I almost have to separate this Pope from his church and its history; he repudiates everything I find objectionable about past practices, and embraces that which transcends any religion in his priorities. While he would object to being personally venerated, he is the Pope of Hope and Serenity, and personifies the best of Christianity. I suppose we have the abomination of Benedict's time to thank for the Cardinal College's choice of Francis, in some ways; certainly the choice of both a South American and a Jesuit were reactionary.

I am also a big fan of Francis but he is not perfect
He and the church seems to be back pedaling and closing ranks regarding the priest child sexual abuse scandal
