Seth McFarlane's new comedy "Dads" has drawn a formal complaint from the Asian American community even before it aired. They are objecting to the sexy Asian schoolgirl costume. In addition one of the older characters uses the term "Oriental".

In 2009 a new character on Doctor Who dressed in a kissogram outfit. It seems that the UK upgraded the "singing telegram" to "kissograms" before the "strip-o-gram" became popular. The producers wanted to inject a little sex appeal into a family television program.

How serious should we take all this stuff? Did Penny discourage an entire generation of young female scientists by play acting, and stating that as long as she could do this look, she didn't need to study?

Not quite sure what the point is here... just how politically correct must show's be.
Is it the old joke about a politicians favorite color is "plaid"?
And now everything must be so inoffensive and bland as to be absurdly boring.

Schoolgirl costumes are very popular right now particularly in Oriental pornography and in both Oriental and Las Vegas nightclubs and Las Vegas Karoke clubs. Whats the big deal?

This outfit is made in China. Should we accuse them of being offensive to Chinese?

Actually, I think Seth McFarlane is eating up the publicity. I am sure that he will back down and reshoot the pilot.

President Obama was called on the carpet for making a dumb joke about Asian basketball players

The Japanese seem to love the school girl theme
and have for years. Their porn is full of cheer
leaders and women dressed as school girls with
big lollipops.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Let's ban all speech, pleasant, hateful, hopeful, discouraging, industrial, informational and obviously, sarcastic speech must be abolished.
It is clear that the powers that be cater to the one or two people who cannot tolerate any curses above "stink" or "H - E - double hockey sticks" and ruin it for the rest of us - why can't we all live our lives free from being imposed upon by other's belief systems.

Because only my belief systems are proper and people who are different should be suppressed.

Otherwise we might have a world just chock full of women going around saying "belly" or "leg" or engaging in scandalous exposure of the ankles.

Well this show is presumably going to be pretty low-brow humor. It will no doubt portray women of all races sexually. I am sure that it will employ a number of stereotypes as well.

Basically, I don't think that Seth McFarland could write a Modern Family script.
