Well, regardless of the name at the time, the first two AFL/NFL championship games are now referred to as Super Bowls I and ][ ;)

The Jets did win the ]I[ edition (or was it the ///?) against Baltimore. I think that was the last pre-merger SB. Coincidentally the Jets wound up in the same division as Baltimore for decades. But this all has nothing to do with QBs doing pantyhose ads, now, does it?

The Mannings in a stunning display of symetry and synchronicity, still combine for a .500 record.

Truth to tell, I had expected them to have passed .500 by now. And if not, to have maintained their respective perfect seasons to date. Alas, reality is what it is and not what we want it to be.

Now, be honest, how many people felt momentarily confused when hearing "Indianapolis wins over Peyton manning"? come on, be honest. When you hear Baltimore in connection with football, you think of the Colts, right?

The stat which is more likely to remain untouched by the end of the Super Bowl is this: Eli has 100% more Super Bowl rings than Peyton.

But then, who knows.

It seems the Mannings are no longer in sync...

And the Steelers are back to normal.

Unless, that is, they were back to normal last week, which would happily be a sad commentary on Baltimore ;)

So, what happened to the Saints?

Seriously, I don't like seeing 8-8 teams making the playoffs, though it would be itneresting if an 8-8 or 9-7 team were to win the Super Bowl one day (fat chance!) Nor do I like seeing my team go one and out in the playoffs.

The big question is: whom do Dallas fans blame now? After all, Tony Romo did not play.

I like Denver vs Seattle for th ebig game, but likely it will be an odd paring like the Packers vs Cincinnati or the Colts vs Carolina.

Three 8-8 seasons, obviously very low football IQ from the owner/GM, exec VP and the Princeton-grad coach on down. Loads of talent. Not hard to lay the blame here...
