The two Jimmy's? Mindy Kaling has a failing sitcom. At least half the people on this list I've never heard of. Does that mean I am an idiot? |

A failed show, as a failed anything, can be influential just the same. As to the rest, it means you're not part of the reduced group at TIME which determines these things. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Maybe. But most of these people aren't 'artists'. One is a brazillian chef and another is CEO of J Crew. Who knows who the others are, I don't feel like looking them up. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

That's her. She was also a producer for "The Office" and was given her own show on Fox called "The Mindy Project". It is in it's second season. Last year it ranked below the top 100 shows, but it is one of those sitcoms that wins awards, and has a small, but loyal highly educated core group of viewers that advertisers like. #111 PARKS & RECREATION (4.06 million) #118 THE MINDY PROJECT (3.71 million) #123 COMMUNITY (3.58 million) She is clearly a bright talented young writer/producer/actress, but someone who most people have never heard of, and who attracts 2% of the adult population with her show does not put her in the top dozen or so most influential artists in the country. Trivia, her parents named her after the character in "Mork and Mindy". They were living and working in Nigeria, but they were planning to move to Mass. where Mindy was born. |
