One of Rob Lowes real life experiences?

I tried for the second time to watch "Blue Velvet". I just cannot get through it. I hate the pacing. The weirdness is not interesting to me. I would rather pull my fingernails out one by one.

Blue Velvet is tough
I love the beginning where there is that all American parade with fire trucks
Then the camera goes in for the tiny closeup into the grass and it gets ugly

Just like the movie
Starts nice, turns ugly

I still think about BV, one of the best
strange movies ever made. Dennis
Hopper is so scary in it that you can
never really get him out of your head.
Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 94%, it's
that good.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

I googled for "two girls show up in a rainstorm" and got a Keanu Reeves movie, "Knock Knock" .... Is that it?
Yes. Thanks. Very unsatisfying movie though, I wanted him to bury the two broads alive or something.

Like a LOT of movies, BV was revolutionary for its time, but doesn't hold up well. Couple scenes stay with you, like the Hopper scenes with Rossellini in her apartment (Show it to me! oooohh mama, ohhhh mama!), the Roy Orbison sing-a-long with Dean Stockwell, but the scene in the car with "want me to send you a love letter?" or whatever, seemed badly paced. Lot of the movie is boring, and trying to watch again just to re-see those key scenes is bor-ing. See it once so you can discuss at impromptu coffeeshop gatherings, and forget it.

I plan on seeing Get Out this weekend.

As of right now, it's sitting at 100% at Rotten Tomatoes. That's crazy for a horror movie (although apparently it is more of a horror-comedy).

I predict the white people cook and eat the black people - somehow the chick doesn't know what is in her favorite dish.

PLEASE NO SPOILERS

But given the current popularity of zombie movies, including Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix, I would say that is a very good guess.

Trailer doesn't look much like a comedy....

I'm assuming it's "dark comedy" and it comes into play during parts of the movie that would be too spoiler-y for the trailers.

I have no idea though.... I haven't read any spoilers or anything.

I might see it tonight.

Get Out

It's just as great as the reviews suggest.
