It's amazing how many monsters are intent on eating human flesh. Alien monsters, prehistoric monsters, supernatural monsters. I think it's based on how political monsters operate in real life.

Made me think of spoof for a scifi movie. Aliens come to Earth and take over the brains of salmon. We defeat them by having fish dinners.

Speaking of oddball movies. Watched "Bubba Ho-Tep" the other evening.

Elvis trades places with an impersonator because he gets tired of his life. The real Elvis pretends he is an impersonator, but then breaks his hip and ends up in a nursing home. The nursing home has an Egyptian mummy eating souls of the old folks. Elvis and a guy who may or may not be Jack Kennedy take him on.
The real JFK's brain is in the white house, being kept alive.

I was struck by the insistence of the T-Rex in the first Jurassic Park to keep chasing after the humans, as though they were the only edible lifeform on the island.

Niven wrote a story where [SPOILER ALERT!] carnivorous aliens buy the rights to human genomes, then grow spare body parts, or even brainless clones, and eat them. They also trade advanced biological technologies.

I saw "Suicide Squad."

Meh.

The acting's quite good, in particular Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Viola Davis. But the story overall is the reluctant heroes on a quest trope, with heroes even more reluctant than usual (and compliance gimmicks straight out of "Escape From New York," too).

Given these guys are villains rather than super heroes, why not put them in a situation where they'd do things heroes wouldn't or couldn't do?
