Saw “Den of Thieves”. It’s a heist film in the spirit of “Heat” or “The Italian Job”. Unfortunately, this 2:20 isn’ as good as those three. The story wanders, and spends a lot of time on characters that aren’t germane to the story. There are entertaining aspects to the film, action sequences, car chases, shootouts; but there were also some big holes in the procedures used by the bad/good guys which is huge because the film spends a lot of energy making itself out as a procedural.

I give it 7 armored cars out of 10.

Saw “The Commuter”, a solve a mystery on a train before it gets to the end of the line thriller. Liam Neeson plays an ex-cop turned insurance agent whose daily train ride home from NYC is turned upside down when he is forced into the middle of the action by a femme fatale and a promise of a cash reward for simply identifying the passenger who doesn’t belong. There are a few times the audience has to suspend their disbelief, but the story moves along well and the camera work and music are very good. If you enjoyed “Murder on the Orient Express “, “ Die Hard” or “Non Stop” (which was almost the same plot, but in an airplane, and also starred Liam Neeson), you will enjoy this film.

I give it seven zones out of ten.

Allison Janney is one of my favorite actresses.

Me, too, Paco. I'll watch her do nearly anything. I think one of the funniest things I ever saw her do was guidance counselor (small part but outstanding ) in "Ten Things I Hate About You", a truly excellent update of Taming of the Shrew .
Never doubt a small group of concerned citizens can change the world; it's the only thing ever has

I've watched about half the episodes of "Breaking Bad", so far. I had no idea it was actually a morality tale about the dangers of lacking universal healthcare coverage..
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

Good catch! Next, I expect to see Liam Neeson have to find a bomb on an out of control cruise ship, or find a killer on a space station before it crashes back to Earth. He’s the hardest working guy in Hollywood... Not the most original, but the hardest working.

Coming soon...

Death Wish - reboot with Bruce Willis in Charles Bronson’s role. Directed by Eli Roth. Looks like fun.

Sicario Soldado - Anyone up for a bit of the ultraviolence? Benicio Del Toro will happily oblige.

Breaking In - Bad guys are holding a black woman’s kids hostage in a house equipped with advanced security. Does anyone want to bet the bad guys don’t make it to the credits? This movie is set to debut on Mother’s Day.

Most of his fame came in his later years so it must be a grueling schedule for him. I seem to recall he got a part because at one time he had actually been living on the streets of Ireland or something. I liked 'Taken" because it had fewer situations wherein it was overly unrealistic.

I loved “Taken”. There aren’t many Luc Besson action movies that I haven’t enjoyed.
