any resemblance to the mailman?

It wasn't an IQ thing. My brother was the most contrarian person I have ever known. He annoyed people, especially me and my father, wherever and whenever he could. The middle of three boys -- I think he had a terrible case of middle-child syndrome. It never bothered him to get punished either but only resolved his will to get even.

Trump might proud of him in that he never caved in, never forgave, kept a list of enemies, always retaliated against anyone who wronged him and played by his own rules to a fault. Such people I think either do very well or very badly in life. I'm kind of jealous in that all the girls in high school swooned over him while none would give me the time of day.

No gay porn but there was gay sex in OZ. I liked OZ though

Interesting how he came full circle from this scene in Fast Times (one of my favorite movies). Forward to about the 29 second point.

It was a filmed version of "Naked Came the Stranger", which was a somewhat unique book. A woman was raped by a stranger, and she went kind of crazy trying to be sexually fulfilled after that, seeking out all kinds of weird situations. At one point, she goes with two gay men, who start with her but quickly turn to each other.

The thing about the book was, each chapter was written by a different, famous author, then collected under a pseudonym. Think it was maybe 1971 or so. I have it somewhere.

Edit: she was cheated on, not raped, according to wiki, and I think that's correct. Written in 1969. The movie came out in 1975.

I am trying to think of movies that are unwatchable. Not just mediocre, but truly unwatchable. True Lies was the third most popular films of 1994 behind Forrest Gump and The Lion King. Normally films that were that popular are at least entertaining enough that you can usually watch them all the way to the end.

Some of the few popular films that are completely unwatchable were the Twilight Movies IMHO...

Agree that the “Twilight” series was a grind. I guess if you loved the books, or were a 12 year old girl, the world is a different place.

As for unwatchable, there was an action film shot first person point of view a few years ago called “Hardcore Henry”. I saw the trailer and knew I would get motion sick from the bouncing camera work, so I never saw it.

It seems that the authors of the book had nothing to do with the movie except see it.

An interesting book. It was written as a pure hoax and was meant as a parody book to show that the American public would buy anything , no matter how bad, if it had enough sex. The plot was completely incoherent, and some of the chapters had to be dumbed down if the writing was too good.

. The plot was completely incoherent,
Of course it was. The separate authors did not collaborate or have some underlying plot suggestions. It promptly made the best seller list and stayed there. The title and the dust jacket aided its sales, I'm sure.
I knew they were separate authors but did not know that they were famous authors.

Isn't every movie unwatchable for you? You always brag about how you turn everything off after x number of minutes.

EB looooooved La La Land. How many times you see it, Bob?

I've never been able to get very far in "Blue Velvet". Twice so far, I stopped watching.

Maybe I'll try again one day.

I feel the same about Citizen Kane. But I've tried three times.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

I enjoyed it. Not much to say. If you're a SW fan, you'll like it (unless you're one of those odd man-babies who hates all the new SW movies for weird misogynistic reasons).
