There is a wikipedia article about f-count in films.

Because they are old films the f-count is relatively low. After 1973 the f-count>150 to be on the list.
11 The French Connection 1971 104 minutes
25 Last Tango in Paris 1972 129 minutes
65 The Last Detail 1973 112 minutes

The movie I remember which came out when I was age 15 (December 1973) was Serpico

I need CC often. I only remember seeing CC in yellow one time. It was so much easier to see. I wish it wasn't always in white, it makes it so much harder to see.

Options regarding closed captions are available. On many sets you can adjust the color, transparency, font, font size and location. Netflix and Amazon Prime have their own options to display cc in addition to the option on your TV, so you may have to turn one or the other off.

What makes me the saddest is when the script calls for children to swear. It used to be a "blurt" that was put in as a one time gag, but now it's often a regular part of the character. Why isn't that quashed by the on set "child advocate"?

More F's in Casino than Out of Compton.
Hard to believe. Never heard a single person
in my parents generation use it, never.

Almost all language uses in the King's Speech are in a therapeutic context. In one scene the therapist is trying to cure his patient's stutter, and he has him get angry and swear. The man swears continuously for about 35 seconds. The scene is somewhat comical, the swear words are not focused on, and it is strictly in a therapeutic context. This scene is the only reason why the film has an R rating.

18 uses of "f--k" (with 3 being mouthed)
20 uses of "s--t"
There are also other minor profanities scattered throughout the movie, such as bloody, hell, damn, bugger, ba---rd and arse.

It's always bugged me that they have
Ralphie in Christmas Story saying
the F word. Middle class people in
OH in 1939 did not use the word,
most had probably never even heard
it. But the movie was early 80's and
the word was everywhere. Ralphie
probably said 'shit', use of that word
then would about get you killed by
your parents.

People were very concerned about
what others thought in those days,
if your kid used foul language it
reflected badly on your whole family.

An opponent of theatre censorship, Tynan (born 1927) was considered by many to be the first person to say F--- on British television (although this is now disputed), which was controversial at the time. Later in his life, he settled in California, where he resumed his writing career.

Quote: Kenneth Tynan- on British TV in 1965
I doubt if there are any rational people to whom the word F--- would be particularly diabolical, revolting or totally forbidden.

Miriam Margolyes later claimed she was the first (in response to getting a question wrong on a college quiz show), but says she was dubbed out so you can only see her face mouthing the word.

The ads for Welcome to Marwen are repelling.
The ads are on all the time, and sure enough,
gets a 23% on Rotten. The critics trash it
big time. It looks frightening.
