People still go to the theaters but I am sure attendance is a shadow of what it once was.

I subscribe to an unlimited movie pass, so I was going about once a week before COVID.

The movie theaters here just opened up again yesterday, so I am going tonight.

Revival theaters have been a thing for a few years, but so many 2020 releases have been delayed, so a lot more screens are showing older movies. I am seeing Jaws tonight. I have always been a big fan of the movie so I am excited it is being shown on the big screen.

In the 20's 30's and 40's most big city people went to the movies once a week.

TV killed all of that.

The first air conditioner as we know it debuted in New York City’s Rivoli Theater in 1925. In 1932 the first window-unit air conditioner was available for purchase to the tune of $10,000 to $50,000. Affordable residential air conditioning also did its part to reduce movie attendance. In 1953 alone, 1 million air conditioners were sold.

The Seven Year Itch was 1955 and
the window air conditioner was
a big part of the movie. I remember
my parents saying the guy must be
rich to have one. My first unit was
in 1970 and cost $400 at Sears.
That's $2275 in today's money. It
was the most expensive thing I'd
bought up till then. The same kind
of unit is in my bedroom and cost
$90.

Sean Connery is 90 today.
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

I just watched Bill & Ted: Face the Music

They should have left it ending at the second one

William Sadler as Death steals the show once again

Plot holes, predictable ending and stale jokes

The predictable ending was that their daughters would be the ones to "write" the song that changes the universe - I use the term "write" loosely as they are never shown to have any musical ability and actually admit such towards the end - however, they pull a DJ Khalid and gather famous composers and musicians from history to work with - all of a sudden, a Guitar Center trick full of equipment happens to be in front of them on the highway when they need equipment - it is all set up on the highway and all of a sudden the daughters can program drums on a sequencer and can lead a band composed of Mozart, Louis Armstrong and Jimi Hendrix) - I want my $20 back

Tenet

My first movie in a theater in six months!

Probably the most Christopher Nolan-y movie ever. Very little CGI. Loud score that goes BWAAAAAAAAM over and over. Dialogue that you can’t comprehend because the sound mixing is off.

I had no idea what was going on for about 60% of the movie. But it looked cool. 🤷‍♂️

How many people in the theatre?

Did they wear masks?

Hardly anyone in the theater, maybe like 10 people total. Everyone wore masks when entering the theater. Couldn’t see anyone else once they sat down.

Reeves is too old to still be
playing parts like that. Mid
50's, acting like he's 27.
