Spoiler alert? lol

Daniel Craig’s Bond is DEAD. There is no bringing him back from what happens at the end of No Time to Die. The next Bond will have to be a complete reboot.

I have not seen it yet, but my assumption was that is how his would end (as Craig's were a reboot separate from the prior series, whereas the rest of the story was a continuation where Bond just never aged), so this does not surprise me, nor do I view it as a negative spoiler.

This probably will not happen (though I could be pleasantly surprised as producers have mused about it in the past), but I think they should make it era. Make a movie take place in 1955 either a new story, or a book that was so badly adapted making it true to the book would basically be a new story (Moonraker).

When they finally got the rights to Casino Royale in the early 2000s (the first book, which was the only they lacked the rights to since it was sold off before the main series), they opted for a modern reboot (and they later obtained the rights for Spectre/Blofeld, 2011ish -which is why they released "Spectre" which if they had since the jump could have made the Craig series a bit more uniformed, but that cannot be helped, I don't really like how it was mashed together in Spectre), this would have been the perfect opportunity to start from the beginning of the series in 1952 and work up. Of course now a remake of Casino Royale would probably be too soon and seen as cheeky. But, I have long been a fan of a Bond film being set during the era of the books (which with the exception of a couple of early Connery movies has never really been the case).

And, now that they have the full rights to everything including "Casino Royale" and the Spectre/Blofeld storylines and characters, they can fully cover the books without altering the plot/names without legal drama (which has been an issue for the movie series since 1962 until 2011ish or so, really they had material limitations for the vast majority of the series).

Halloween Kills

Absolutely brutal. Loved it.

Yep, not as good as the last one but I liked it too.

I actually went to the theater for it, it was the first packed movie I have been to in 5 years.

This Chinese propaganda film has made 770 million worldwide. I guess they're stealing our Hollywood production secrets as well.

Man, I still need to go to the last movie I said I was going to. Unless they missed on this Dune like the others, I'll be adding this to my go-to list.

Dune: Part One

This is a technical achievement, no doubt. I’m sure it will win some Oscars (VFX, sound, score, etc.)

But the story left me cold. Let’s face it: this is only half a movie (the opening title card correctly calls it Part One - even though none of the advertising did). There is no closure to be had at the end.

I am glad that it has been successful enough to justify Part Two.

There are 6 books in the original series by Frank Herbert, if they are trying to remain true to the original story at all it was never going to be done in one movie. Besides the original 6 books there are a dozen or more by other others trying to fill in the huge time span in the original story by Herbert.

Dune: Part Two is officially a go.

A Quiet Place: Part II ($61M production budget) opening weekend was $47,547,231 which opened on May 28th, 2021 and officially ended the COVID death to movies. Dune (Production Budget: $165M) opening weekend is not as good.

However, it is the best that happened to Warner Brothers this year, and it did earn $182,200,000 on the international box office. WB is still hoping for a Harry Potter replacement,

Although
$41,011,174 Dune 4,125
$32,200,000 Godzilla vs. Kong 3,084
$31,053,362 Space Jam: A New Legacy 4,002
$26,205,415 The Suicide Squad 4,019
$24,104,332 The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It 3,280
$23,302,503 Mortal Kombat 3,114
$14,110,000 Tom and Jerry 2,563
$11,504,710 In the Heights 3,509
$5,434,620 Malignant 3,501
$4,800,000 The Little Things 2,206
$4,651,571 The Many Saints of Newark 3,181
$4,426,161 Cry Macho 4,022
$2,830,000 Those Who Wish Me Dead 3,379
$2,070,000 Judas and the Black Messiah 1,906
$1,950,793 Reminiscence 3,265

Adjusting for Inflation, these are Warner Brothers top 20 films. Only 5 of which are not Harry Potter and DC Comics (particularly Batman).

It can't be any worse in the first Dune movie, the one that had Sting in it.

If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
