I loved The Menu. Saw it twice in theaters.

My favorite character was Elsa by far. So many good line deliveries.

I just saw Everything Everywhere with Mrs. Wizad. We walked out half way through.

The plot is hard to explain. The closest thing I can compare it to is The Talisman. It suggests there are thousands of parallel universes and some people have the ability to jump between them as well as connect to their copies in other universes and instantly gain their skills. All this jumping around is controlled by some people in an RV. Then there is a villain and a reluctant savior.

That all sounds interesting, but the movie is sensory overload as it jumps from one universe to another every minute or so. There are so many plot twists it's almost impossible to keep up. And a fung fu fight in every other scene got old.

Much like Inception, I felt the makers were trying too hard to impress the audience. Maybe it's the kind of movie you either love or hate. You know what camp I'm in.

If anyone here has finished it, please let me know how it ends.

This may win best pic
And the Wizard walked out
I really enjoyed this movie
It has EVERYTHING and should win best pic :-)

I rented it and turned it off after ten or fifteen minutes.

Just finished "Good 'ol Freda," a documentary about a Liverpool girl who at 17 started working administratively for the Beatles: she was with them til they split up.

Worth watching for Beatle fans.

Good ol Freda was great
She was there from the very beginning..
Auction houses love Freda regarding Beatles stuff
If it can be proven its from Freda, its the real deal

I was trying to keep a list of movies I'd like to watch and some of them were older. One was "Barbarians at the gate" with Johnny Depp. I like his acting, especially the Caribbean series. He is "out there" most of the time.

"Barbarians at the gate" cast did not include Johnn Depp. Waiting for the Barbarians is a 2019 drama film directed by Ciro Guerra in his English-language directorial debut. The film is based on the 1980 novel of the same name by J. M. Coetzee. It stars Mark Rylance, Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson, Gana Bayarsaikhan, and Greta Scacchi.

In 1988 RJR Nabisco was purchased by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. in what was at the time the largest leveraged buyout in history. It has since been beaten by TXU valued at $32.1 billion, when TXU Energy turned private in 2007.

"Barbarians at the gate" cast from 1993 (I remember this film)
James Garner as F. Ross Johnson
Jonathan Pryce as Henry Kravis
Peter Riegert as Peter Cohen
Joanna Cassidy as Linda Robinson
Fred Dalton Thompson as Jim Robinson
Leilani Sarelle as Laurie Johnson
Matt Clark as Edward A. Horrigan, Jr.
Jeffrey DeMunn as H. John Greeniaus
David Rasche as Ted Forstmann
Tom Aldredge as Charles Hugel
Graham Beckel as Don Kelly
Peter Dvorsky as George R. Roberts
Mark Harelik as Peter Atkins
Joseph Kell as Nick Forstmann
Rita Wilson as Carolyne Roehm-Kravis
Ron Canada as Vernon Jordan

I give high marks to the movie M3GAN. You can read my full review at WoO.

I'd say I would lose all respect for the Academy if Everything... does well, but I already lost said respect.

I'm fine with the academy
People in the movie entertainment industry voting on what they themselves like. These are not critics.
I'm always curious who will win
But
Doesn't mean I will see it.
I've only see about half of the best pic winners over the last 20 years.
I really enjoyed Everything. I was entertained. I hope it wins. I generally root for movies I've seen.

The highest rated movie on IMDB to never be nominated for any Academy Award
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
It's a masterpiece in my opinion. Especially the music.
