Ever meet a happy
rich person?

I would say that the majority of wealthy people I know are happy. Although, one just sold his boat and only got $26 million for it and was upset because he was expecting over $30 million.
At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a detrrent.

I don't want to be rich.

Forbes declared that the ranks of the world’s billionaires have swelled to a record 1,645 including 268 newcomers.

Of course, Bill cosby is only worth $400 million.

IMDB lists Bruce Willis Salary at $200 million for just 12 films. Supposedly he has made 58 films in addition to cameos. There are other sources that say he made as much as $100million in profit participation for the Sixth Sense. Presumably he has some investment income. But he is listed as only being worth $180 million at the age of 60. There is someone who can spend some serious coin.

Live Free or Die Hard (2007) $25,000,000
Hart's War (2002) $22,500,000
The Kid (2000) $20,000,000
Unbreakable (2000) $20,000,000
Last Man Standing (1996) $17,500,000
Last Man Standing (1996) $16,500,000
Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995) $15,000,000
Armageddon (1998) $14,800,000
The Last Boy Scout (1991) $14,000,000
The Sixth Sense (1999) $14,000,000
Look Who's Talking (1989) $10,000,000
Look Who's Talking Too (1990) $10,000,000

Would you settle for being a mere millionaire?

Met plenty of happy ones. True, many make their lives a mess. The ones that keep a blue-collar attitude tend to be happier from what I have seen.

This. Most of the rich people I know are happy... but then most people I know are relatively happy. Studies show that happiness after a certain level of income/wealth is unaffected by wealth, and is by many other factors.

I've been poor. I'd take my chances =p

Poor is obviously worse, but there is somewhere
in the middle.

They teach that in MGT101 and Maslow's Hierarchy of needs. After your needs are satisfied you need fulfillment. I know I watch "Shark Tank" and I really just think how at that level not worth the hassle. Plus there gets to be a point where you lose privacy. Do you think Mark Cuban can just play poker or Craps without a crowd? Even if you are not on TV you will get known. You get to be a target for crooks and the government alike.

I do know I would not like the "social scene" among that level. After working parties of many types for the last 8 years I can hardly enjoy myself at a social party anymore. I feel like I should be working.

That's where I'd succeed. The only reason I'm not already a complete hermit is that I can't afford it ;)
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

Rich people seem to spend most of their
time doing things related to being wealthy.
It's like owning a small business, you spend
14 hours a day doing work related stuff.
The happiest times for me was when I had
a regular job and when I was off, all that
time was mine.

So I become self employed for 35 years and
work 7 days a week. Dumb.

Depends on your goals and situation. I hated management because you had to put in loads of time and had to do it your way. Your success depended on people performing. And often you could see decisions from above would fail but you had to implement them. Or if you you just have a basic job have to be a cog and act like a robot. Again, using no judgment.

I am about half to where I want to be now. Independent contractor, but I want to get to where I have a few clients and gigs. Then no one is a full-time worry but I still get the freedom to set my own hours. I know people who's biggest goals are better health insurance and more PTO. Yet they still don't care much for what they are doing.
