If I was an atheist I think I would be more confused by life .

But you aren't an atheist, so you can't
even come close to knowing what we
think, as viewed thru your god tinted
glasses. Life has never for a second
seemed confusing, quite the opposite.
It's always made perfectly boring sense.

You're the lucky one, you have bought
into the construct of a hunky dory
Disneyland afterlife, where heaven is
a glorious place and you're glorious
because your there. Us poor atheists,
we have to get by on reality. And it
ain't pretty sometimes. But it is what
it is, nothing you can do about it.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Ah, but there IS something he can do about it; he can pray. This gives him something to do other than accept reality and that is a pretty powerful choice. Indeed, its his only choice.

Yet science has shown over and over that
praying and doing nothing get exactly
the same results. But praying does feel
like you're doing something, and that's
what counts. That it's doing nothing is
irrelevant.

Have you ever wondered how things might look without the lens of prejudice?

It must be a lens of prejudice because it can't be as bad as I'm painting it. Just to clarify though, as an atheist you do believe in the long run we are all headed to nothingness, correct?

Us theists have to live in reality as well and the fact that life ain't pretty (that is an understatement) is of much greater concern to us than it is to you. You can just shrug it off and say well that is all there is, everything is just random chance. We have to actually come up with an answer. The only answer atheism gives to suffering that I have ever heard is to just give up. If life is painful it doesn't have any value. I find that so very disturbing and hopeless maybe you can enlighten me as to some other answer that atheism offers to those who experience life as not very pretty?

It's silly to attempt to test prayer scientifically. Why would anyone do that? Is someone making scientific claims about prayer?

Saying that science has proven anything about a mysterious supernatural reality such as prayer is laughable. I have already given you and the members of this forum a sure fire way to experience the reality of prayer, why don't you take me up on it?

Also let me ask you that if you think about loving your wife, caring for her, and celebrating her - is that doing nothing?

It's actually an independent question from atheism. Hey do you really consider a Hindu in a better position than an atheist?
You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really?

I made up a famous quote. "It's hard to hate someone when you pray for them"

What do you mean by independent question from atheism?
