I saw my Baptist preacher bro in law at
a family reunion tonight. We had a good
laugh at the number of Catholic apologist
clergy out there now 'explaining' what
really happened in the various Inquisitions.
He has had his dealings with them too.

He had a bit to say about how he gives
communion and how the Catholics do
it. You wouldn't have liked that conversation
at all. You religious types really crack me up.

I think the Socratic method is a good one.

In Plato's writings about what Socrates allegedly did, it's devastating.

But I'm sure it's 95% fiction.

Surely it's blatantly obvious where I'm going with this?

The Socratic method I think works best for the questioner, who can learn a lot as well, when they are required to bring their line of questioning to its completion. Also with this method everyone has to be perfectly honest and open and pay close attention to the answers and questions.

Can probably be said of atheists also. Though I wonder are priests thought of as 'more religious' or 'more wise' or what?

Darn that double clicking mouse.

Maybe my mouse needs an exorcism for surely there is an evil spirit lurking there, more evil than the one in my keyboard for sure.

But atheists have no dogma, nothing we
have to be right about. Religious clergy
crack me up because they're all so
convinced their specific way of doing
things is gods way. There is no god, so
they are all correct and wrong at the same
time. But it's impossible for them to see
that. Very funny.

It's impossible to see because it is logically impossible to be all correct and wrong at the same time. What is not funny is that you don't see that. But I guess since atheism itself is illogical it might make sense to you. idk.

Wrong! When something doesn't exist, all
the experts on it are always right all the time
because none of them can be proven wrong.
Or right. Religion is the safest profession
there is to to be in, it will always be 100%
correct to it's followers. It's when you start
trying to convince others that are 100% right
in their own religion that you start having
trouble.

And atheism has no logic, it just relies on
proof and evidence. Lack of either in this
case just makes us wander away in the other
direction.

So atheism is good for the intellectually lazy because it requires no work or effort. Easy way out of critical thinking and taking responsibility for ones self.

Atheism isn't good or bad for anything,
it's just a lack of religious belief. People
read way more into to it than is actually
there. I don't collect stamps either, does
that mean I should contemplate all the
reasons why I don't? The only reason
religion is important to you is that's
what you've been told to think. Other
than that there's not 'there' there.
