I agree with you that forgetting a tip is not a serious matter. .

Of course it is, going by your guidelines
of what sin is. According to you, this is
the very thing Jesus died on the cross
for, you beating yourself up on the way
home for cheating the waiter out of
money he depends on for a living.

But Christians can take solace that Jesus
died for just this type of 'sin' and he
forgives you. So forget about it, Jesus says
it's OK.

And you wonder why atheists think Xtionity
is a bunch of hooey..

If you cheated on your wife you would not feel shame or despair? If you bullied and beat someone up you wouldn't feel shame and despair?

I don't know, I don't and wouldn't
do those things. That's the key, you
know, don't behave like that to
start with. Don't act like an ass and
then expect some god to forgive
you.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

No. Such feelings are inherent as a consequence of an act. Even animals seem to have a sense of 'justice'. And a sense of 'forgiveness'.
I've never heard that before. Could you give an example of a sense of justice or forgiveness among animals? Sounds pretty farfetched to me. Unless you're talking Disney animals.

The fact that you would even be worried about the waiter shows that forgetting the tip was an honest mistake and not done with the purpose of depriving the waiter of what he or she needs. Jesus died on the cross to exactly set us free from beating ourselves up - why don't you get this?!?

Do you think its a bunch of hooey because you don't think God should forgive you for small sins or that you don't think God should forgive us for anything?

I get it just fine, as I outlined in the
post. Jesus died not for offenses
against god, but for all the little
things we do in life that make us
feel bad, as you have stated many
times. He died for nothing, in other
words. He's just a psychological
bandage you apply when you have a
bad day. And they made a religion
out of this baloney? Good grief.

What god, there is no god. If you do
things constantly that need forgiveness,
you have far bigger problems than
inventing a god to forgive you. It's
time to seek some kind of help from
a shrink. I cannot remember one time
in my life when I did something so bad
that I needed the forgiveness of others
for it. I try and avoid that kind of behavior
before I do it. Don't you?

That's raising the stakes, ins't it?

For me, and I bet for most people, forgetting a tip involves a cognitive hiccup. You were too focused on ordering correctly among many options, and then on paying with your app.

That's far from not treating someone with respect.

of course, if there is a complaint line for the deity, I'd really like to see it :)

What about working on Sunday? 3rd commandment? Sin?

Saturday.

Man, Hell must be littered with bemused Christians ;)

Now, seriously: why should that be a "sin"?

What are you talking about? The little things and the big things. God came to set us free from anything we do to hurt ourselves or others. He came to show us that true happiness and joy is found is serving and giving ourselves to others in love. So yes, he died for all our offenses the little and the small and to show us the way to live. Again I ask you to think of it like a loving father. When you do something that causes you pain or guilt your father forgives you and helps you to live rightly.

There is surely a God you are surely forgetting the many times in our own conversations when you have said things that have made you feel bad and I know I have said some things to you that I regret. However, what you have done to other members on this forum are far worse; I think you have even been suspended for it. If you cannot remember one time in your life when you have needed to ask forgiveness of others I urge you to run, do not walk, to the nearest hospital or psychologist because you are manifesting psychopathic tendencies. I am glad that you try to avoid such behavior but surely you have not been perfect in avoiding saying or doing things that have cause hurt or pain to others.

It's pretty pathetic that we need
a god to make us feel better
for being such a jerk that we hurt
others all the time. Here's an idea,
quit using a made up god as a
crutch and try and be a better person
so you don't need constant forgiveness
for being an a-hole to people Sheesh..
They made up a religion for this?

There most assuredly is not. You confuse
your hopes and fantasies with reality. If
there was one I cannot think of a single
thing I would ask forgiveness for, why would
I. Take responsibility for your actions, you
should grow out of that stage of needing
forgiveness at about the age of 7 or so.

Seriously, you should check yourself in somewhere for observation. Good luck.
