Actually wise conventional wisdom about Football

1) Every season is weird in some way. Always some team unexpectedly does well early, then collapses. Always some team full of promise does badly early and stays down or mediocre. Always some team that did great last year does lousy this year. Always some team unexpectedly does well and stays near the top. There's nothing special about this season. Ever.

2) The Jets are the Vikings of the AFC. The Vikings are the Jets of the NFC. This is a circular argument.

3) A good week is when your team wins and the Cowboys lose. If you're a Dallas fan, for the love of God why?

When Brett Favre "retired" the first time, he moved to the Jets. After his second "retirement" he went to the Vikings. Coincidence? Or was the League trying to finish him off?
