Are we doomed to slower advancement until advancements stop?

As we all know, I want people to use as much natural gas as possible.

I can remember my elders commenting that, at one time, there was some public resistance to using natural gas when it was a new idea to pipe it around. I can't confirm that myself.

ND is a hard place to live. Its either winter, or winter
just ended, or it's about to begin again. Summer is
the 4th of July, blink and it's gone.

I didn't say move there. You take a tour for about 6-9 months. Live in a crash pad or RV. 14 days on/4 off. Come back with five zeros in your pocket.

When you are working all day you don't care as much about the cold.

Get a CDL before you go and get hazmat rated,
you'll have have 5 job offers before you get there.
I know somebody who does that and he says
they're crying for oil truck drivers. He works
as much as is legal and makes over $100K a year.

Not a bad idea but I tried trucking school once, nogo. I don't have the spatial abilities though I could easily ace any written test.

I'd end up going with a landman gig. But not even thinking about it as where I am now is too good. But for some reason I can never stop thinking about such things.

I look at young girls and figure I remind them of some uncle they have.......

I gave the "new life" thing a last shot when I moved to AZ. It partially worked, and the first two roommates I had were older than I was. I think the kid that owned the place was scared to death of us because of our age.

But not the most laughable thing to take a tour where you make a lot in a compressed period. Back when I was doing auto loand I talked to a contractor just got back from Iraq. Said he was making a killing, bought his daughter a house and was only taking a break to take care of business. Was leaving for another 18 months and setting himself up for life. Said they needed certain skills in telecom and as he had them he would be crazy to pass it up.

I think the Utica is going to be the next big play. Not as big as ND, but a big one. 5 more years of production and then you have the gathering, downstream manufacturing, etc.

The only problem is these wells gush for about 6 months and then tail off dramatically. You have to keep drilling wells constantly.

Utica will hit but at first it will hit west of Marcellus. Utica is bigger but deeper.

Keep drilling, just keep doing it on new land........
