My views are known so I will tread carefully here
What is your view on depression and gun ownership?
I was a huge Orioles fan. Mike Flanagan was a favorite.
Made it to the broadcast booth after his career. Commits suicide, gunshot.
I was a huge Allman Brothers Band.
Butch Trucks recently committed suicide shooting himself in the head as his wife watched.
So sad
Now get this, I live in a 60 unit community.
Over the last 3 years, 2 residents killed themselves by gun shot.
This is one of the primary reasons I don't own.
Can people commit suicide other ways, of course, but for the depressed, maybe too easy?

In the minds of gun wackos, that consideration is far less important than their fantasies of someday gittin' th' drop on some CRIMINUL as he tries to break into their trailer and pluggin' th' varmint raht between th' eyes.

I wonder what the ratio of gun-related deaths to the actual foiling of dastardly crimes by some dude wielding a gun is. Probably over 100:1.

I don't think that way and don't know anybody
that does. We just like owning and carrying
guns. In the 70's I took martial arts training.
We didn't go around hoping we could use
it on somebody, quite the opposite. Just
like guns. martial arts is the last defense,
not the first. Something nice to have if
you need it, while hoping you never do.

All of the people I know with carry permits
are the opposite of how the Left describes
them. They're well educated, responsible
adults who love their home and family and
hope, really hope, they never have to use
their gun anywhere but at the range.
