We would take one apart and cut a trigger portion for the spring to latch in, and could shoot a wooden match about ten feet or so, the match would ignite when it left the clothes pin. Fun stuff. We were pretty young, forged our parents handwriting to write a note to the store telling them to sell us cigarettes. haha, like they couldn't tell it was kids handwriting. As kids 10-15 years old, we took ourselves camping overnights. No big deal. Built rafts and launched in the lake, hunted with bb guns. No adults were around. Yeah, it was about 3 miles to the theater, me and a friend would walk there and the folks would pick us up later when the movies were over. Remember the saying, "kids should be seen and not heard", does anyone ever say that anymore, or is that some kind of abuse? The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

'The expression 'children should be seen and not heard' is an old English proverb, dating from the 15th century.' If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

There's climate change all right, but not the good kind. We're slowly heading into another ice age which always devastates the planet. GW would actually help it, but that's never gonna happen. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

That would be great. @ 2:30, it just ticked over to 117...in the shade. Zowee's, no weather for man or beast. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |

petroglyph Member since: Aug 3, 2014 Threads: 25 Posts: 6227 | My thermometer is reading 122.7 and I got all excited thinking we finally broke 120, but then I discovered the light angle here has shifted and my sending unit is now in the sun, so I don't think it's fair to claim 122? Weather underground says 119, so that's probably closer. The last official act of any government is to loot the treasury. GW |
