Most elections have record turnout because we have an increasing population. True this one motivated many people to come out and the Democrats to go dig some up. But to me uninformed people voting is not a good thing. It is just a thing.

I agree with that. I always maintain that everyone does (and should) have the right to vote, but I wish fewer people would avail themselves of it.

I don't think anyone, "Dug anyone up," on any large scale. It tends to make things easier when you send ballots directly to people, along with a return envelope, without said people even asking for one.

Correct, the mail in ballots allowed for so much fraud it is not funny. No chain of custody. Until they find a way to secure it, perhaps with block chain, I say show up and pull the lever. Fact is most of the people who say mail "saves the trouble" would line up at the casino for a toaster oven giveaway.

I'd pretty much be fine with the way they conducted it as long as people had to mail back in a copy of their ID (along with the ballot) on the return.

Then they would whine that they had to risk their life going to Kinkos to make the copy.

We are screwed no matter what at the moment, a Japan style lost decade coming. If you expat near me we can AP the casino as a team.

Have you decided on your location to expat? Will you be leaving soon or do you have the date marked on the calendar yet?

Can't leave while my mother is alive. After that who knows. Will be somewhere warm. None of that Central Europe climate. If I want that I would retire to Utica.

They can make one at home if they have either a scanner or a smartphone...just need a printer. Don't have a printer? Someone you know probably does.

I tend not to believe that mail will ever be as secure a method of voting as just appearing in person, but there's no harm in making it more secure. They can just live with the minor hurdle of having to go to Staples, or even the public library, to make a copy. It's not like they wouldn't have time to do it. For me, it just proves that whoever signed and mailed it back had access to the ID as well as the ballot simultaneously...so that's basically satisfactory, in my opinion.

I'd say I'm still satisfied enough here that I have no intentions of moving to a different country, besides, my kids are still...well, kids, so it's not really on the table for me yet.

No reason you shouldn’t vote from home on the Internet. You should be able to vote after entering into your online banking site, if you have one.

Of course financial institutions would have to cooperate. If your money is not secure enough, what is?

Sorry about your mother. Do you provide care for her? Can you get in home care for her?

She does not need care. I say she will outlive me. Just not leaving her alone.
