If the latest shooters had not gotten so much attention, would this one happened? In particular the Buffalo shooter got way too much glory ... yes, glory in the minds of these sick people

I grew up on the Space Coast. Our school had a mix of kids from all types of families. There was no shortage of guns on our high school campus every day. Gun racks in many trucks…no one thought about stealing them or using them for anything but hunting or target practice. Kids fought when they had a problem they could not solve without a fight…and then were friends again. Sure we had problems…it was not utopia.

We do need to keep weapons out of those who are nuts. Easier said than done. We do need to invest in security for schools. The larger is problem is figuring out just what the hell is wrong with these idiots and how do we keep them from acting out like this. Everyone tells us it isn’t this or it isn’t that…but it has to be something more than just guns. Guns have been available for a long, long time.

Here’s a great reminder as to why TX is such a sh**hole:

Lock 'n Load America, you never know when you will be your own first responder.
Once these A$$holes start getting "filled in" upon arrival, they'll stop coming.
Until then, soft targets will continue to be the scenes of tragedy.
Churches, Schools, Walmarts, etc. At some point this country will start taking security seriously.
SCOTUS is about to rule in NY Rifle & Pistol case striking down restrictions on concealed carry.
Duncan v. Becerra is next year and will strike down magazine capacity bans.
You aren't getting rid of 2A, so you best start figuring out how to handle a firearm.
Or don't, it's up to you.

Obviously, the gun laws in Texas are too strict. Give them to children. Give them to illegal immigrants. Mount one on your vehicle's hood. Strap one on your dog.

It's probably violating some right, but being able to put some "do not sell to" stay order on kids and adults who have discipline problems, exhibiting bizarre behavior, are in repeated aggravated conflict with others, unwarranted aggressive behavior towards others or even sullen and withdrawn.

Those aren't crimes, but most of these people exhibit some sort of these behaviors prior to extreme violence. It has to be treated differently than a criminal record though, if there are no crimes.

Heh, here's an idea that might work, but probably couldn't pass legal muster either.

In order to purchase your first gun, you need to have 5 people with no criminal record vouch for your good character.

Awful idea. Would you say the same to get an abortion? What about for any other transaction?
