Fleastiff Member since: Oct 27, 2012 Threads: 62 Posts: 7831 | News item I encountered during morning tea-time: The 1.3 Billion Pound UK Cancer Drugs Fund, established by the government in 2010 to cover the costs of expensive medicines not available by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), was not beneficial for patients or society, and in some cases may have even caused unnecessary suffering, according to a report published in the Annals of Oncology. I've no idea what that is in real money but imagine it ain't chump change. |

Victories: Increase in border funding can NOT be used to start construction on a new wall. Check. Non-defense domestic spending going up. Examples: 300M to shore up Medicaid in Puerto Rico. Check. NIH spending increased by 2 Billion. Check. EPA budget slashed by less than 1%. Check. Planned Parenthood funded. Check. Obamacare subsidies paid for. Check. Then defense: 12.5B of the 30B increase in defence funding... with a 2.5B bonus if/when a detailed plan to defeat ISIS is produced. Check. So like Charlie Sheen used to say: Winning. It is not even his first budget, it is work Obama should have completed before October. The President is a fink. |

Dalex64 Member since: Mar 8, 2014 Threads: 3 Posts: 3687 | So the Republicans in congress, in a bill with great bipartisan support, are doing Obama's bidding? That is strangely comforting. Politico even characterizes it as Congress clawing back power from Trump, and reining him in. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/05/01/trump-congress-budget-power-237849 "Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts." I don't know what else anyone expected by electing a rank amateur who's not even remotely interested in policy. He may have won the Electoral College, he may have the title, he may sit in the Oval Office, but he's no more than a thin-skinned pathological liar, way off his depth, trying to keep up a con he perpetrated. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Not for nuttin', but I reckon you just described at least 87% of all politicians. Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it. |

Huh? In your pathological need to deflect all of Donald's immense weaknesses on Hillary, you often fail to make sense. Nareed's post doesn't describe Hillary at all. Be more creative. “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |
