Hurting business? They should have been glad people weren't drinking soda.

Besides, when you sell soda you get new people drinking it

Why should the city care if people were drinking a legal beverage?

Last car produce in Australia.

Just too small a market to be viable for local production. It has a strange problem that despite being far closer to Asia, its cars most resemble the North American market. The end means an end to the "UTE" which I think would sell if they brought it to the USA. It would never come as Ford will not sell a truck that is not at the top of all duty classes and GM is too brain dead to see anything the market research team does not tell them.

I wish they still made el camino's. Great rigs, takes some real plus's from a sedan and a pick up. I agree I think this would sell here.

I had a 75 el camino super sport, with posi traction and a 400. It was quite a rig. Handled great, rode nice, looked sporty, and could get through snow as good as most 4 wheel [2] drives. And I could haul stuff in the back. These are closer to the ground than these half baked pick ups.

Because if you don't incentivize good business practice with your local tax system you end up with payday loan centers and liquor stores on every corner.

The link to public health costs is a good reason to have a "soda tax." It's not a ban, just discouragement.

Soon as I see benefits to soda I can change my mind. When I worked at Eagle Army Navy store, management always told us cigarettes were our big revenue maker.

Kinda sad, if nothing else. Just the benefits of delaying the introduction of soda pop drinking by a few years probably even brings benefits to new generations if you didn't see it everywhere.

Why? Is soda worse than Flint tap water,or beer, or orange juice made from concentrate? Or Slurpies, or??? As far as that that goes, the food supply isn't really health food, with GMO's and BPA from plastics in water bottles. https://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-11193/7-reasons-to-never-drink-bottled-water-again.html

What "good business practices?" What "health costs?" Sounds like an excuse for social engineering. There are far greater things to worry about.

People like to drink pop. People like to smoke. So what? This nanny state thing has to be ended.

As far as I'm concerned you're free to buy a Ferrari and drive yourself into a brick wall at 100 mph as long as you pay for the risk upfront.

All this "I'm free to do whatever I want" until I burden society with the cost is the sign of the true deadbeats of America. The ones that are bankrupting America.

Will you rephrase this, I don't understand.

I think it means he thinks the government is free to control your life if they think it is for your own good.

What enjoying a Pepsi has to do with driving yourself into a brick wall well I have no idea.
