Well, no, there's a Huuuuuge difference between "reaching out" to a world leader, and: - negotiating a deal that contravenes current, active policy actions against an enemy who just got sanctioned. - back door discussions without the State Department in the loop, without following protocol. - negotiating with an enemy that actively interfered in the election to your benefit. - negotiating with no standing as an official in the US government. Not just Flynn. But also Trump. Prez-elect has no authority to make ANY promises to another government. - negotiating in the direction of a person who is probably compromised by the Russians and is in some way personally either paying a debt or personally benefitting from backstabbing the US. The former might be considered routine, and that call happened between Trump and Putin. The latter is treason. This is only 1 small piece of a much larger grid of activities, many of which have yet to be PUBLICLY proven. I also suspect ABC got over their skis, but the reporting will turn out to be the actual truth. Not just the meeting in Trump Tower that's gotten all the press. The meeting Kushner had in October in Paris over several days with the Russians. The discussions with Sessions in September. The positioning of Manafort et al in the campaign. And other things hinted at but not yet released, all happening before the election. The FBI has been investigating Trump and their activities for over a year. Mueller has all that info. Mueller has NSA intercepts and transcripts from all this foreign contact activity. Mueller has whatever the CIA saw of their activities overseas. And Mueller has Trump tax returns and transaction records for Russian money buying properties from Trump here, investing Russian money in Trump when no one else would give his bankrupt ass another look, and overseas property activities in and out of Russia. There is an enormous amount of information that's not yet public. And decades of subterfuge and con-man business practices to unravel. Trump had a cow when Mueller doubled his team to include forensic accountants, claiming his business records were beyond the scope of the investigation, but was quickly silenced on tweet statements after that first one. The question I find stressful is, whether Trump will go so far as to start a nuclear war in his senility, because it will (in his mind) distract from what he's done in business and with the Russians. Never doubt a small group of concerned citizens can change the world; it's the only thing ever has |

It would actually be kind of cool if he did. Solve some problems and make for interesting news coverage. The President is a fink. |

Yeesh. This post is a preview of how the righties would react if Donald did actually nuke somebody. "Obama was too WEAK to start the nuclear holocaust! Only a real alpha male could do it. MAGA!!!" “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

I was just about to make this exact same post after reading BBB's long post. We have enemies, ISIS, North Korea, but I wasn't aware we were enemies with Russia. I can easily travel there, own stock in their companies, etc.... Do you also consider China an enemy, BBB? |

Obama would just claim a nuclear war would be bad for global warming. Actually, a nuclear war would cool the planet. Liberals would finally have a reason to be happy! The President is a fink. |

Remember the two illiterate longshoremen in San Francisco who explained to a Philosopher why Russia would be our enemy after the close of WWtwo: "Did you ever see small boys play king of the hill?". Russia is largely a criminal enterprise rather than a nation. |
