Dem Alcee Hastings is laughing about
the loony Cortez woman. He says lots
of people come to congress thinking
they're meteors on the rise, only to
fizzle out almost immediately. He
says it takes years and years to establish
the right relationships to get anything
done, and even then things move at
glacial speed.

She'll find out, if she's even elected. I
said before I know a former congressman
and he got out because it's such a
closed club and it takes years before they
let you in.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Congress is all about party and seniority. At best a freshman gets on one good committee. 435 members means that you get 23 minutes per week to be the center of attention if and only if the sessions were 24/7.

She would be a safe seat and there are always a few kooks on the far left who get elected to safe seats. Keeps her out of the real world.
The President is a fink.

Except crucial close votes almost always depend on odd man (or odd woman) out. It's not a powerful position most of the time but it certainly is when things are close and contentious.

But a woman like her will always vote far left. So the Democrats will always get it and the GOP will never get it, meaning zero leverage.

If you listen to her in interviews, she's
not all that bright. She has an inner
city mind, anything outside that
seems to baffle her. She has zero
idea what people in Iowa think,
and doesn't care. She reminds
me of when I would get a minority
in my taxi, I would ask them what
% of the population their minority
made up. They were all hugely
wrong by 4 to 5 times the number.

That's because all they see in their
neighborhoods is people like
them, so they inflate the number
nationwide. Ignorance on the hoof..

If I drove a taxi, it would turn into a game of Cash Cab every ride. My goal would be to make the passenger feel stupid by the end of the ride, as I do with all my trivia victims. No wonder the ladies love me.

Most people are not all that bright; that is what publicity agents are for.
>>>> She has an inner city mind,
If she is from an inner city, I would imagine that she does.
>>>> She has zero idea what people in Iowa think, and doesn't care.
'Bout the same as me. Was she elected by people in Iowa. Where is she from?
>>>>all they see in their neighborhoods is people like them
As with pretty much everyone else.

I haven't heard her but have read about what she has said. I guess she really made a mess of her position on Israel. Eventually she had to punt. She seems to be popular because she can roll every lefty talking point into one.

The "abolish ICE" one really is crazy. At least she is saying she wants open borders.

Her election is just a continuation of the once-a-generation resetting of the parties. The radical Left it appears is tired of having to hide what they really believe to win elections, seeing that in these safe districts they can win. This group has come out of lets call them the "academic" wing of the Democrat Party. If they drive out the working class voter remains to be seen, but I doubt that working class folk are going to flock to an "abolish ICE" platform.

It's a nice family portrait because his wife Melania, daughter Ivanka, and mistress Karen are all together in one happy photo.

A cardiologist who treated former President George H.W. Bush was killed Friday morning in a bicycle-to-bicycle drive-by shooting near Texas Medical Center in Houston, authorities said.

Dr. Mark Hausknecht and the shooter were both riding bikes on South Main Street, near Texas Children's Pavilion for Women, shortly before 9 a.m. local time, Executive Assistant Police Chief Troy Finner said at a news conference.

Hausknecht, 65, was biking north when he passed the shooter going in the other direction, Finner said. The shooter turned, fired two shots at Hausknecht and rode away on his bike, Finner said.

Hausknecht was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Finner said.
