I see the media is spinning it as that he caved, but I think he took the moral high ground to give negotiation the old college try. I've said this before, but I suggest giving U.S. Customs and Border Protection 5.7 billion or more to enforce the border in the most cost-effective way they deem appropriate. I am neither pro nor anti-wall, because I'm not an expert on the topic. I totally agree with Trump that it would be a good thing if we could eliminate illegal border crossings and invite immigrants in based mostly on merit. I hope to see an intelligent compromise on this issue, based on cost-effectiveness. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

It's all part of the plan. Scott Adams called this before it even started, as he reminded us today. He said Trump would shut down the gov't for a month, try to negotiate, fail, reopen the gov't for a few weeks while experts in the field gather evidence that a wall is needed. Shut down the gov't again, declare a national emergency, which a fed judge will declare invalid. Trump will do a fast track with the SCOTUS using the evidence from the experts, and of course they will approve it. Scott Adams was spot on so far, lets see if the rest of it comes to pass. If you think Trump hasn't had this mapped out for a long time, you don't know Trump. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
