Several things have happened. One is that men especially no longer need a mate for survival. When that happens, many people will skip the whole thing. I seriously estimate that only about 1/3 of men really want to raise kids. Some of the 2/3 "grow into it" after they have a kid, but they did so to compromise with their mate. If you are part of the 2/3, you just do not try as hard to find a mate.

Besides survival, today there is so much more to do to fill your time. So much more entertainment available.

It might just be the way societies evolve.

''...really want to raise kids" .... raise or pay for raising? The rich use Swiss boarding camps, schools for a reason. schools ranches independent living camps.

Women too want to fill their time and minimize procreational efforts. Avoid 'baby brain' etc. or defer it. Have a career and then have ONE kid in a low stress semi-retirement job. So its be a doctor, then retire to medical librarian and have one kid.

Some women want to raise kids and me mothers. The ones you speak of, the ones who want a "career first," they mostly just want the kid as an accessory. Same as their handbag, shoes, and jewels. The "she can have it all!" is the biggest lie of our time behind global warming. It just gets women depressed when reality hits.

In 1,000 years, humans will be gone. Much more involved, but the crashing birthrate is the start of it all.

Nope, not every one. Just the vast VAST majority.

That is quite the technical term "vast Vast". I suppose if I dig up the number of accusations that are dropped or the men are found innocent that you will just claim that is fake news. I hope you enjoy the world you live in it is much simpler than the real world. Many people living in the simple world have trouble with the complications of actual life.

I look at married life and see zero attraction. None. At the most if I had a woman who lived in my upstairs unit maybe have a meal once in awhile. But really more enjoy going my own way. Having a beer and waiting for a poker game to start as I write this. Can’t imagine enjoying life more.

It still rubs me wrong when I hear the the wife referred to as the owner, especially in public. Ever hear that? A guy or another female will introduce a couple and will say the mans name and then introduce the wife as his "owner". Bothers me enough I had to say it twice. Or a man will introduce his wife as his owner. I know how it plays from there. yes dear.
