WASHINGTON – Missouri U.S. Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver on Thursday introduced legislation to withhold pay of members of Congress following mass shootings.

According to a release from Cleaver’s office, “The No Pay Until Peace Act” would withhold one month's paycheck from every Congress member each month there is a mass shooting in the United States, constituting four or more killings in a single incident.

Cleaver said the time for thoughts and prayers has come and gone, now is the time for concrete action.

It's a nice fantasy. Unfortunately they aren't too scared of things they can stop from passing.

Pretty easy to stop school shootings. Ban schools.

Hopefully more homeschooling happens because of all of this.

They don’t do anything to those drivers unless they commit another violation. If you have valid sticker and don’t get pulled over, nothing happens.

Sherriff's dept. in NYC cruises the streets, scanning license plates. They boot or impound vehicles for unpaid fines.

Drivers with three suspensions on three occasions are required to be arrested, and their vehicle impounded.

Would be easy with guns. Demand the uninsured gun owner surrender his weapon(s) or face arrest.

Better yet, make owning a weapon without proof of financial responsibility an automatic arrest.

Looks like our Dem NY Governor Hochul is going to lose her 'A' rating with the NRA, as did our formerly conservative and now flammingly liberal Dem. Senator Gilibrand.

She wants to raise the age limit for purchasing an assault rifle from 18 to 21.

No financial responsibility is needed. As long as you can pay for your ammo all you need.

Lock the doors.

Though not a perfect solution at times of movement, securing every school by locking every door should be the number one priority in the work that needs to be done in order to make schools less attractive targets.

The doors already have locks.

Lock them. No one gets in without someone opening the door for them. Master keys in hands of resource officers, patrol officers on duty in the area, the police station, and other first responders.

Once you go out the door, it locks behind you. You have to have a means to open the door for safety, of course.

Then add cameras and alarms on all doors. Alarms activated when lockdown is broken.

Sure, it is an inconvenience. It is also the first level of basic security and not all that expensive.

If someone does not want to comply, fire them if staff or suspend them if student.

You wouldn't make the fire marshal happy. Although, you can have doors that stay locked from the outside, a student propping a door can be a problem. Still half a locked door is better than none at all.

There are already many doors that can be opened in case of an emergency. Fire Marshalls see this all the time. There is a way to satisfy them, which I mentioned already.

It isn’t just students leaving doors propped open. Staff does it also.

Discipline is required. That is the problem…people just want to do whatever the hell they want. That attitude has to be changed by making it policy that is heavily enforced.

A cctv monitor that the teacher can see from the front of the classroom might be helpful. Have 4 different views on the outside of the school. Or something similar.

You do have to consider prohibitively expensive fixes. But donated tvs is probably possible for that part of it. Even used tvs/
