Sorry I haven't posted much lately. From June 8 to July 1 I was on my longest time away from home in my life. The purpose of the trip was partially to bury my father's remains in Washington, partially for my daughter to tour of colleges in that part of the country, and part for fun. I could write a lot about it, but for now I hope just some photos will suffice. Click on any of them for a larger version. Sorry they are out of chronological order.

El Capital, Yosemite

Overlooking Portland. You can make out Mount Hood in the background.

Multnomah Falls, Oregon.

Roslyn, Washington. A must-visit for every Northern Exposure Fan (like me).

Summit of Wheeler Peak in the Great Basin National Park, Nevada.

Reading Room at the library of the University of Washington.

Dunsmuir, home of the best water on earth.

The Spanish Mission in Santa Carla, California.

Crater Lake, Oregon. That is Wizard Island behind me.

Lehman Caves, Nevada

Pike Place Market, Seattle

Perrini Bridge, Twin Falls, Idaho

World's largest Monopoly board, San Jose, Calif.

Golden Gate Bridge

State capital building, Olympia, Washington.

The Troll under the Bridge, Seattle, Washington.

Multnomah Falls, Oregon

Who took all the pics, one of your kids?

Some of them. Others were taken by a timer or a random stranger. That explains why they are all bad shots.

They're kind of out of focus, how do you do
that with a digital camera that has auto focus.

I count 10 different T shirts. You must awfully
easy to buy for at Christmas.

Other than the Troll under the Bridge, which were out of focus? That one was awful because the camera was still set on manual focus, a mistake I often make.

You must have counted wrong. I think I rotated through five t-shirts the whole trip.

I would have loved to get further north, but had only so much time. I got to within about five miles of the border by sea when I was in Eastsound WA (unpictured).

Okay, I think this is the complete list:

1. Indian Springs football (red)
2. Puerto Rico (blue)
3. Cheyenne High School (dark blue)
4. Burton Snow Boards (grey)
5. Seattle (green)

The white and blue stripped sweater doesn't count.

You were north of me then!

I haven't been to the San Juan's yet, but it looks like a nice place to hang out for a week doing nothing in a foreign country.

You didn't count this one, I'm sure I saw it.
