If you want an occasional pond on your property, just dig a big enough hole and wait.

There is one of these man made areas near me, that's big enough and stays so full in between rain, it's practically a small lake 90% of the year.

I would call that a mosquito ranch.

Actually, I don't think mosquitoes breed that well on these open areas. But if you walk into a forested area here with standing water and lots of shade, the little b******s are out in force.

The mosquito life cycle requires changing water levels. The females lay their eggs on something dry above the water level. The eggs will only hatched when immersed in the water when it rises. Grassy ponds with fluctuating water levels are perfect for them.

I'm rarely bit, until I go into one of the swampy areas. Then it's a blood bath.

Back in the older days, when I lived down in Fort Myers Florida which is neighbor to DRich new house, these WW2 style planes would regularly fly low, producing clouds of anti-mosquito spray.

Some people actually drove off the road into the ditches thinking the planes were crashing. You see a large plane flying low straight down the roadway at you, early in the morning bellowing smoke behind it --- well, you get the idea. Fun with Tourists!

A year ago today gas was $2.11 a gallon. We don't have to put up with Trump's mean tweets anymore, so it's really worth it, right? LOL. Stolen elections have consequences..

Don't blame Biden, blame supply, demand, and issues with the supply chain.

Blame Biden. First day in office starts shutting down pipelines.

If Biden took things seriously maybe we would not have the gas and supply chain problems.
