excessive olefactory stimulation is a sign of wasted protein. Pigs in confined feedlots smell, pigs left to run around and forage for themselves generally don't have any odors until you are within a few feet of their grassy bathroom.

It's just so... tangy. It does the same thing to my nose that ammonia does. It's not the smell, it's the sting in the nose and back of the throat that gets me. Cow and horse is gentle, smooth, almost soothing. Pig just stabs at the soft, wet spots inside my head ><
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

Ain't none of you gardeners heard of aquaponics and aeroponics or growing things against gravity or in controlled environments of hay, trout and chickens.

You could easily raise pigs on your place in modest amounts, just ferment most of their food before feeding it to them.

Or make pumpkin wine.

Didn't know that was possible, thought they were just good for beer.

Pumpkin beer is nasty, IMHO. Ugh.

The carrots I have grown this year taste so much better than those from the shop. Because they are super fresh, I suspect.

Don't look at me, they had to brew with what grew in Mass. FWIW I do swear pumpkins are the easiest thing to grow. I have them mostly trellaced but a few runners popped up all the way across the garden.

Totally, find fermentables, mash it and ferment the sugar for healthy goodness. Malt is just the best for it.

I did blind taste tests years ago, and most
stuff fresh from the garden doesn't taste
any better than store bought. It's all in
how you do the test.

Take a warm tomato off the vine and bite
into it, and heat up a store bought in the
sun, you can't tell the difference. Same
with green beans and carrots and most
things. It has to be a blind test, because
you want the garden stuff to be better,
it will be if you know which it is. It also
has to be local produce from your area,
not some crap flown in from S America.

Just like dumping gallon jug merlot into
expensive bottles, it will fool 99% of wine
drinkers.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.
