I'll give you 3.5 to 1. I think the bookmakers will give you 4 to 1, but I'm trying to perceive an advantage too.

I got some down at 3.5 to 1. Seems it's gone to 4/1 or beyond in several places. The fact it's going outwards still is interesting.

Today is the big day. I'd imagine polls would be closing about now. Any news on exit polling?

Why not? Oil wealth makes smaller nations far more viable.

The question is, what side will Roddy Piper come out in favor of?

If it ever does, and it never has, time will tell. Some nations are smart and invest most of the oil revenue to income producing assets. In 100+ years we will find out.

In 100+ years, everybody on this board will be pushing dasies.
Maybe our offspring will find out, but we certainly wont.

I hear the UK gambling money is on the no

Oil wells run out. The geographical location of the active wells change. WRT to North Sea Oil : "The production is expected to fall to one-third of its peak by 2020".

The UK was not very smart on it's usage of the revenue from Oil.... I have no expectation that Salmond's mob will be any better.

Voting has commenced, and there will be no exit polls reported until polling closes at 10pm, BST (2pm PST). Votes are counted by hand at a number of different locations, with final results expected around 6am.... 10pm over here. I think there will be interim reporting from various locations. Recounts are only demanded if there's a procedural question, not if the vote is close. Though I bet if it's within a few thousand we'll get questions asked.

I expect it to be close, and hope for NO, for a variety of reasons.

Last survey poll had the NO at 53% which is probably enough to defeat independence but still very close. The last polling station to report is expected to be Glascow and it is expected to favour the YES side, so probably result will be in doubt until the end.

I was expecting the last to report being the Orkney's and Shetlands, as at least one station has to send the ballot boxes by trawler, tractor and then car to get to the counting offices. Though, those will be smaller in number than the votes in Glasgow.
