If you're that into unicycling, get both.

Can I tell my wife you approved this?

Four more days in the auction. If I make a move I'll put in a sniper bid.

You're almost 50, uni's can do serious damage,
it's for a much younger rider. Take up inline
skating, that's fun too.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Around here, all wives have decreed that my seal of approval is to be met with an instant rejection. But she doesn't know me, so go ahead =)
Be bold and risk defeat, or be cautious and encourage it.

It goes without saying, they learn how to
do this at a young age.

I'm having a hard time deciding. Do you think I should buy it?

I don't think it's worth it. Have you priced a new model with the features you are looking for locally? For the same money as the uni and shipping, you could get a very nice mountain bike (or two, or three), and take the entire family out for some exercise.

Consider a tandem for you and Mrs. Wizard. That could be big fun-ercise...

He can take his family along.

I would say it depended on the price you can sniper it for. If regardless of price, I would say no, unless you're selling the other two.

I've decided against buying and waiting for one with a fixed axel. They are currently out of stock at unicycles.com.

I don't think you'll regret that decision.

Would it be cheaper to buy the individual components and assemble them yourself?

Prior to the overseas bank ripoff, you were considering a car purchase for Mrs. Wizard. Did that get taken care of? If not, maybe Mrs. Wizard would be more open to a new uni for you if her ride got upgraded before yours.
